Schizophrenia is a disease that strikes in the late teenage till the adult ages. It can be found all over the world, black or white, women or men. The response at the treatment is various. Some people may have a complete resolution and live almost a normal life after taking a right treatment, and some people may not respond as good as we can expect.
Since 1950s when the medications have been introduced in the schizophrenia’s treatment, the chances of a major recovery have been improved. First appeared classic antipsychotic drugs, but even they treat very well the symptoms of schizophrenia many side effects disturb the recovery process. Few years ago, a new class of antipsychotics was discovered and the side effects are fewer. But the response at the treatment depends on many factors, such as:
How early the illness is discovered and how early treatment is introduced: the chance of recovery is raising earliest the treatment is introduced.
The intensity of the illness, how many symptoms appear to a schizophrenic patient.
The compliance to the treatment and this depends from person to person.
The understanding of the patient to respect the treatment. Are patients who respond very good at the treatment, but after they interrupt the treatment the symptoms of schizophrenia appears again.
The doctor who treat a schizophrenic patient must prescribe the right treatment, and the treatment is different from patient to patient even the symptoms are the same.
The understanding of a family to support a schizophrenic patient.
In conclusion, in our days schizophrenia is a illness that can be treat very good. If not all, than many symptoms respond very well to the treatment, and schizophrenias medications is improving with every day that goes by.
